A super easy recipe for gluten free french toast. Perfect for breakfast or anytime. Any gluten free bread will work. This recipe is made with Whole Foods GF Bakehouse brand Sandwich Bread.
4 slices GF bread
dash of salt
a few shakes of cinnamon
olive oil for frying
Add 1 tsp of oil to a skillet over medium-low heat. Crack open the eggs into a medium sized bowl. Add the milk, salt, and cinnamon. Beat well with a fork or whisk. Place 2 slices of bread in the egg mixture. Make sure both sides of the bread are evenly saturated. Let sit in the egg mixture for a minute while you turn up the heat of the skillet to medium high. Just as the oil begins to smoke slightly add the bread slices to the pan. Cover with a lid. Turn the heat down to medium. Let brown on the first sides for about a 90 seconds. Flip french toast with a spatula. Brown the second sides for about 2 minutes. Serve warm.
